New triggers for Rules: Due date is approaching and Task is Overdue Product Updates

He explained his rationale in a section on the common app that asked if there was something else to let the schools know about. She will be applying to LSA as a biology major. She has a particular interest in plant genetics. With your example numbers, it is not much of a demonstrated interest applying EA if people are doing it. We looked at the 301 high schools with the most applicants to U-M.

Anyone using Microsoft Loop in conjunction with Asana?

Some of the best players(cough) … Students… Use them all the time. You’d have to dig into your school’s Naviance/SCOIR/etc data to the extent you have access to it, and/or speak to the college counselors. If your school punches above its weight wrt UMich, e.g. typically gets 50% of applicants admitted, half of which who then attend, then I’d say that qualifies as good news in this context. Agreed, thanks for this valuable insight. We’re already down to our top-3.

New triggers for Rules: “Due date is approaching” and “Task is Overdue”

  • Some of the best players(cough) … Students… Use them all the time.
  • But… At this point I would be looking at other colleges very closely and get excited about their programs and activities.
  • Likely, they will admit a very small cohort – like at Penn.
  • Use every resource they have at the start.
  • 4.35 GPA weighted, 3.8-something unweighted (all A’s after freshman year in tough classes, three B’s as a freshman).

I linked this thread in the original post in the other thread. I was bummed to hear about this actually. My 2026 grad will apply EA but does not want to ED…and this will make it harder! But…that’s already the case at so many other schools. I don’t know with 100% certainty but I’m almost positive if you see the triggers, then you have that feature.

  • Peer to peer, office hours, graduate hours, Science!
  • Looking forward to this new addition.
  • The old “let’s just see” attitude.
  • It’s a very difficult school.
  • #1 in her case actually wasn’t the best option for her.

Essay Questions University of Michigan Office of Undergraduate Admissions

I am starting a complex, year-long project now in which I intend to use both. Loop will be for senior level executives to receive polished output in a user-friendly way. (I’m meeting them where they are.) Additionally, I am using a separate Loop workspace for this same project to privately organize myself as Project Lead.

They evaluate you holistically. My son graduated Michigan in Industrial Engineering (Business Engineering). He had 3 years of Mandarin in high school, but in his senior year wanted to fit in Economics.

Both programs will be available as ED, EA, and RD options. Start looking at all schools you’re applying to at their clubs, classes etc. No reason to do this last minute. What is the worst is that families will hold on. They can’t afford the school anyway.

Patience is necessary with Michigan. He narrowed it down to UIUC, Purdue and Michigan for engineering. That’s the Trifecta … Then it was decision time. I really can’t believe it took him so long but he did his due dilegence. My point is, don’t wait close to May 1st like so many do to narrow down your choices.

Some families choose to submit and some self score until they know their accepted then they need to send their final proof. Use every resource they have at the start. Peer to peer, office hours, graduate hours, Science! Math labs, writing labs, etc. Some of the best students I have known to graduate used these resources. It’s going to be interesting to see which students do choose Michigan first, and forego their chances at a more selective school, especially in-state students.

Second, EA acceptances will run the gamut, in terms of statistical profiles. Every year, for the last umpteen years, there are always complaints from many of the “4.0/1,600” applicants who are deferred to RD. What will happen though will be about a week before the release, computer’s will show changes in the portal. Some people are locked out, icons change, color changes etc. On the Monday of the release its like their loading the results.

If 100 applied, maybe not so good news. It may be worth noting that acceptance rates do not factor into USNWR rankings (even if some people mistake them for a proxy for prestige). But some who hire like @HPuck35 may be wary of engineering + business bachelor’s degrees. Save your money (sending official reports costs $) and self report.

There’s no explicit other way to check if you’re part of the group that’s gotten it so far. I still https://p1nup.in/ use Asana as my task manager and source of truth. I have no plans to change that practice.

Hi @Richard_Sather , I’m investigating the Notes view tab and checking to see if any staff are using it already. IF possible ASANA team has to benchmark some tools that are in the market insted of creating everything from zero. Now this is perfect to capture actionable MOM.

Has anyone who has applied received their portal? We have been waiting a bit now. Happy to wait just wanted to check to make sure nothing is wrong. But… With close to 100,000 apps these day’s it’s a very difficult school to get into. I lurked on the UMich boards last year to glean a bit of information and you and your colleagues, including Sushiritto, were incredibly helpful, patient, and supportive of the many people seeking advice and information. Thank you for participating again this year and I look forward to your insight in the EA process.

This is the one feature that makes me regret choosing asana from time to time. What’s more, it’s great that it can be used on all plans (starting from free). Also as MOM – from usability point of view if i start capturing here, it would convert to task. So people if they need to see the task, they would not come here. Not only feasible but happens yearly.

Did you guys update your term from fall 2025, if so did you guys update essays or keep them the same? I know there was also a new supplemental essay this year so I was wondering if anyone wrote that. That dual degree CoE/Ross program I predict is going to be popular and extremely selective. Many students prefer Michigan to Emory, Wash U, and UVA but have been appying EA to Michigan and ED to one of those. I think this is interesting, I’m not sure everything that’s driving this change but assuming they want to lock some strong students up whether they are in or out of state.

Colleges & Universities

The others are engaging with UMich, such as following on social media accounts, attend virtual events, contacting admissions with legit questions, etc. First, Michigan is a public school, so UMich admissions will achieve roughly 52% of the enrolled class from in-state. For most everyone, you’re not going to know till April regardless when you applied. How Many expected applications this year? Last year total 105,000 including Transfers. Conversely, you may find that 1 or 2 kids have gone in the last 5 years.

There is more she can do but this is a start. Have her focus on a great essay. So, most applicants won’t get a final decision until late March/early April.
